Daniel San氏が、Claude Codeのmodの一つ「Cache Control」を推奨。Claudeの5分キャッシュの残りをバーで見せ、切れそうなら通知で温め直す。トークン節約に効く、と。長いセッションを回す人ほど効きそうな細工です。

Claude Codeの動きに、自分で書いた処理を割り込ませられる『mods』が出ました。 ✅プロンプトの書き換え、ツール実行のブロックや再試行、権限の承認・拒否をTypeScriptの関数で組める ✅出力に含まれる秘密情報を隠す（redaction）ことや、画面（UI）の差し替えにも対応 ✅プラグインとして配布され、/plugin から導入 ⚠️modsはサンドボックスなしで、Claude Codeと同じ権限で動きます。入れるのは提供元を確認したものだけに。

A long prompt runs and you stay planted in the chair. The wait is dead time. You meant to stand up, and the agent kept the cursor blinking. Terminal Gym is a Claude mod that turns those waits into bodyweight reps. It keeps the rep count moving through the day, nudges you when a prompt runs long, and a strict mode can block another prompt until you finish the reps you owe. It also keeps a daily streak. The builder had been doing this from a status bar, then moved it into a mod and opened the repo. A mod can change the loop you are stuck in while you wait, not only the pane you glance at.

... ✘ Validation failed 行番号まで出て、実行前に止まります。 ■ $ を変数に入れる const ui = $.ui と書くと落ちました。 ✘ Found 1 error: ❯ ./register.js:14: $.ui is used as a value ... ✘ Validation failed $ は毎回 $.名前空間.メソッド() の形で書く決まりになっています。 変数に入れたり、分解して使ったりはできません。 入れる前に中身を解析できるようにするための制約です。 ―――――――――― 【作りながら直せる】 ファイルを保存すると、ターンの終わりに読み込み直されます。 例えば ' · tool calls: ' を ' · tools used: ' に変えて保存してみる。 すると次の表示から、新しい文字に変わります。 注意が1つあります。 読み込み直されるたびに register が最初から実行されます。 そのため、数えていた値は0に戻ります。 ■ 自動テストも書ける（実測） claude plugin test を実行しました。 (pass) /tally reports the tool calls the mod has seen [17.49ms] 1 pass 0 fail セッションもログインもネットも不要です。イベントを発火させて結果を確かめられます。 ■ 型定義ファイルが自動で作られた（実測） --plugin-dir で読むと、Modのフォルダに .claude-plugin/types/ ができました。中の claude-code/index.d.ts は14,973行。先頭に「Written by Claude Code 2.1.288.」と私のバージョンが入っています。 中を直接数えました。 ・フックできるイベント（Claude Code自身の動作）… 43種類 　tool、ui、session、prompt、turn、command、agent など13分野 ・$ から呼べるAPI … 61種類、名前空間は19個 　$.fs、$.http、$.store、$.model、$.clock、$.process など 面白いのは、このAPI呼び出し自体にもフックできる点です。 他のModが $.store を読む瞬間に割り込めます。 公式も「ページよりこのファイルを信じてほしい」と書いています。 バージョンで中身が変わるためです。 ―――――――――― 【ハマりポイント：バージョン】 Modsには v2.1.287 以降が必要です。 claude update で「2.1.287に更新しました」と出ました。なのに claude --version は 2.1.283 のままでした。原因は、Claude Codeが2か所に入っていたことでした。 更新は使っていない方に入り、古い方が動いたままだった。 パソコンは、PATH（コマンドを探す順番の設定）で先に見つかった方を使います。 確認方法は2つです。 ・claude doctor の Running: の行に、実際に動く場所とバージョンが出る ・which -a claude で複数出たら、2か所に入っている 直し方は、実際に使われている方へ入れ直すことです。 npmで入れている場合は、場所を指定して入れ直せます。 npm install -g --prefix ~/.npm-global @anthropic-ai/claude-code@latest ―――――――――― 【入れる前に知っておきたい権限】 公式は警告しています。Modは自分の権限で動くコードで、サンドボックス（隔離された実行環境）の外です。入れたModは次のことができます。 ・ファイルの読み書き ・環境変数やAPIキーの読み取り ・全プロンプトとツール呼び出しの閲覧 ・あなたに聞かずに、許可の確認を通してしまうこと ・自分のプランでのモデル呼び出し 作った人と配っている場所が信頼できるものだけ入れてください。 入れる前に validate を通して、hooks と calls の行を見ておくと安心です。 ―――――――――― 【止め方】 ・1個だけ：/plugin の Installed タブで無効化 ・今回だけ全部：claude --safe-mode で起動 ・ずっと全部：~/.claude/settings.json に "disableAllHooks": true ―――――――――― 【まとめ】 ・Modsは、Claude Codeの中で動く自作の機能 ・頼めば書いてくれる（plugin-authoring） ・最小は3ファイル。modules キーがあればMod ・register.js に on(イベント名, 関数) を並べる ・validate で、入れる前に中身が分かる ・古い版が残っていないか、claude doctor で確認

Claude Code design philosophy has been consistent: bottom up and give community building blocks and see where it goes. And with mods, that seems clear and it also feels like the focus is still engineers/orgs wanting HITL for agentic coding. I don't see that UX changing anytime soon in the workplace, where engineers are very much hands-on. It will take a generation to overcome this inertia. But personally, I am using @bot to "code": managing various 2-bot teams (engineer + product owner) across side projects, via text or voice chat (more voice now). Sure, I am not creating production critical apps, but that UX def. seems like the future (and SEEMS like reality in these frontier labs). To be clear, its a glimpse of the future. The UX still feels disjointed and unclear. e.g. where do I go for "review", for "deployment", for "requirements", who/what is keeping track. But one thing is for sure, I cannot see myself going back. THIS is the way. Side thought: I am so lucky to b born in 80s, we get to experience all these transitions, the analog->digital, internet, mobile, social, and now AI.

Claude Code shipped Mods this week and I think people are underrating it. Not another feature — a platform shift. Mods are JS/TS functions that hook into the tool itself: prompts, tool calls, permission checks, even UI rendering. You no longer just change what the AI outputs. You change how the tool behaves. Block dangerous commands. Inject your own review step. Render a custom status bar showing context usage. Anthropic's own /diff and AGENTS.md support already run as Mods, and the community is already shipping wild ones — a "Token Weather" status bar, a "Blast Radius" interceptor that puts an approve/cancel panel in front of risky commands. I sell Claude Code prompt packs on Gumroad. Mods are the obvious next product format for people like me. Prompt pack = words. Mod = behavior. The ceiling just got 10x higher — and so did the bar. The catch everyone will learn the hard way: Mods run unsandboxed, with full user permissions. Anthropic's own warning is "install only from sources you trust." First paid Mods won't win on features. They'll win on trust.

Mods are the Claude Code release I keep coming back to this week. Change how it behaves, customize the UI, write one in a few lines of TypeScript or have Claude build it. #ClaudeCode #ClaudeAI #ai Token Weather is the one I want first. Which mod are you installing?
