Something is changing pretty quickly in how the industry is thinking about AI control. NVIDIA just introduced an agent safety platform built around what it calls an “enforceable boundary outside of the model and agent harness.” Anthropic is extending Claude Code with function hooks that put programmable control into the execution path. Across enterprise software, identity, SIEM/SOAR, integration, workflow, governance and application security, vendors are all moving toward some version of agent control. They are coming at it from different places, but they are all running into the same moment: "An agent is about to take an action against something that matters." NVIDIAs boundary around the agent is important. But underneath it is still another question: Who authorized this action, on this path, before it happened? We spent the first phase of AI trying to make the model behave and that work is still happening as we all see in the AI news cycles. Increasingly agents can call APIs, move money, change records, communicate with other agents and act against real systems. That is a different problem. A model has context. Thats not authority. An agent has credentials. Thats not authority. Being able to call the API is not authority. And the agent deciding for itself that the action is okay is not authority. I spent a lot of years connecting companies and systems that did not inherently trust one another. We learned this a long time ago: The fact that a transaction can get through the network doesnt mean the transaction should be accepted. AI doesnt change that principle. It makes it more important. As agents start acting across more systems, the control point must move closer to the action itself. Not just: what did the model say happened", but "Was this particular action authorized before we let it happen?" Don't get me wrong, model safety matters; however, governed autonomy is something way different. A consequential action does not happen unless an authority separate from the agent allows it. I wanted to see what my Jev mod actually does on every subagent call, so I drew it out. Claude calls the Agent tool and my hook catches it before it runs. Jev tells me which agent, which model and how much effort, with a probability on each. If it's 0.8+ sure it's an Explore task and 0.8+ sure Haiku can do it, I rewrite the call to Explore on Haiku. Otherwise I leave Claude's call alone.

have been having so much fun with claude code it's been able to mod my fav childhood games in ways I could only have dreamed of as a kid, or only achieved with unlimited time or funds as an adult the model creation, coding skill, self testing is scarily impressive
